Stopped by here for lunch with the family to give this place a try. I'm from Chi-town myself, so when I saw the sign go up I had to make a pit stop here and check things out. My first impression walking in the door completely mirrors the review that Rachel wrote. The all-black interior struck me immediately - it is very dark inside and kind of gloomy. Not really sure I understand what prompted them to go with this kind of decor - there is absolutely nothing colorful inside this place to give it any life. The bar portion of this pub actually looks very nice - but I also don't understand why the hookahs are sitting on the wall behind the bar. I could not figure out if they were going for a pub atmosphere or nightclub type vibe. So, our order goes in: two kids pizzas, one mushroom swiss burger and a philly cheesesteak. Ten minutes into our order, our server comes back to inform us that the chef "just discovered" that they are out of mushrooms. Okay, so now the mushroom swiss burger is essentially a cheeseburger and my philly cheesesteak is, well.. something resembling a philly cheesesteak. 15-20 minutes later our food arrives. The cheesesteak actually tasted pretty good. No, it wasn't the best one I have ever had, but it passed for standard bar fare. The kids pizzas also get good marks (I snuck a bite or two to sample them for myself). And now for the bad. The menu says the burgers are made with fresh Angus ground beef, but the burger my wife ordered tasted like a preformed frozen patty. It was okay, but you could easily tell that they did not just make this patty to order. The steak fries looked great, but when we bit into them we quickly determined that they had not spent enough time in the fryer. Our server Alex was top notch. He was friendly and did his best to take care of us, promptly refilling drinks and asking us if we needed anything while we ate. There is wi-fi active in the building (my iphone detected it), but it appears to be locked down to pub employees only. We did find it interesting that a younger guy sitting in the corner booth spent the entire time we were there on his laptop surfing the web. Our server and some of the other employees approached him several times, so I'm assuming that this guy was the manager. Overall, I'm disappointed. Whenever I see the words "Chicago", "Pizza" or "Pub", I expect to find Chicago-style hot dogs or italian beef sandwiches - none of which were on their menu. They did have an "italian/bbq sandwich", but it sounded like some kind of hybrid of what most Chicago food lovers order. In a depressed economy, businesses being run like this will never survive. Someone should be ensuring that the food cooler is stocked and that the quality of the food is spot on. That someone should be the manager, but I got the distinct impression that whoever that is, they either aren't really focused or don't really care. UPDATE: Similar to Becky M, I also received messages from fake posters Grace Y and Dakota C, defending the restaurant owner, the food and trying to explain the hookahs. I get it - they're cool and you smoke them on the patio. So what does that have to do with a Chicago-style restaurant? NOTHING. Oh, and please spare me the sob story about how hard the owner is working at running three businesses. Anyone serious about running a joint like this takes this criticism constructively and uses it to improve their operation... not send out their attack drones after people that write unfavorable reviews. I join Becky M - you lose a star on my review now, and I won't be back to give you a second chance.

Awesome new edition to the neighborhood. Good prices. Great burgers! Nice clean bar will definitely go back

The food was good. Order prime rib sliders. Hamburger sliders. Cobb salad. Chicken sliders. Blue moon and a nice little cocktail. We got the food before the drinks, it took about 20 minutes for a refill. Only part that went wrong.

If you want to watch sports and drink beer, this place is fine. Just don't go for the food. Pizza was tasteless, Domino's in the 80s came to mind. That's when the crust used to taste like the box. The sauce had little to no flavor and the pepperoni was sliced paper thin. The Chicago dog could've been good if the bun had been toasted and the meat had been heated, but a cold hot dog on a mushy bun? Not good. Save yourself the time and effort and just go somewhere else, there are lots of great pizza places and this isn't one if them.

Food is good, prices are good, and service is adequate... Server was okay, but appeared to be one of two people working in the entire restaurant, so she obviously didn't have a lot of time for serving.

I've been here one other time and it was ok. Thought I'd try it again since my favorite person works there now. First it's a sport bar in QC so i'm not sure what you would expect other than what they have. I had a blast. We went there for drinks and food with the girls. And that's what we got. Jose even made me a drink that tasted like banana runts, I LOVE BANANA RUNTS!!! We had the veggie pizza and it was really good, and did not cost a ridiculous amount. Gonna have to go back for the Gyro next time. They have also added a new room with pools tables and air hockey...... Frankly if you live out here you know a fun place is hard to find. I think this might actually be a good place to go and stay close to home.

Their deep dish pizza is cheesy, delicious and cooked perfectly every time. Wings are meaty, crispy and flavorful. Service is good, staff is friendly. Prices are decent and drinks are strong. I am not giving a perfect 5 star rating because of the salad, which lacked ingredients and was boring old iceberg lettuce. (we ordered the antipasta salad which skimped on the meats and cheese).

If you want to see girls wearing tank tops that are too small, with bright pink bra straps and shorts that barely cover anything, this is the place to go. The stars are because the food was realllly good but in the HOUR in took to get a salad and two burgers and a small pizza I saw the girls sit down and eat wings, talk at the counter and be on their phone texting. Our server, a guy with tattoos, was really nice and took good care of us. The atmosphere of the bar just seemed like they don't really care about their customers.

The food is good here... I like their pizza and their gyro... Also the onion rings are really good. My only complaint is sometimes the service is really off...the waitresses are always very very nice, but sometimes it seems like there is only one taking care of the whole dining area. And sometimes it seems to take a while to get food and refills. Lots of action at the bar too.. So sometimes it's a little noisy... But that doesn't bother me.

Service was terrible, waitress was nice enough but not very attentive. Manager Linda was the only person that knew what she was doing but that didn't matter because the owners treat everyone like poop. If we were sitting at the bar ordering shots and getting over poured and FREE drinks we might have had a better time. Atmosphere is....blah. Food was ok but the staff were smoking all the time, the guy in the kitchen was an asshole to his staff. We ordered a large stuffed pepperoni pizza which wasn't too bad. Little expensive and took a while to get out. Find another place to spend your time, beside who likes looking a fat country chicks anyway.

We were stopping in for lunch and as we were entering the restaurant, there was an employee smoking within 15 feet of the front door. That is very unappetizing! When we sat down, we had a nice waitress, and ordered an some wings and it took at least 30 minutes. We ordered our meal which took a long time and when it came out it was cold. The food had no flavor and the place was old and dirty.

My hubby and I went in and each had 4 beers out of the tap...bad bad idea! We got home and had bad things happen out of both ends. Horrible painful headaches. These were premium beers not crap, really makes me think the place is just not cleaned and maintained properly. We ate there once to and got sick so we said we would not eat there again but beers? We both woke up this morning after a rough night feeling like we had partied all night with hard liquor. My advice stick to bottles...and I would nominate this place for Bar Rescue. Ugh it really sucks we don't have a decent bar in town to eat and drink at.

Having lived in Chicago and eaten real Chicago style deep dish pizza, I was sorely disappointed by this place. The pizza was good, but it was NOT anywhere close to being Chicago style. It made me wonder if they'd ever heard of let alone tasted Giordanos. It was a Saturday night so there was a DJ (I guess that's what you'd call him) playing cheesy country music mixed with rap full of the f-bomb. Not my style. The food tasted alright, and the meat on the pizza was good, but it was overpriced and falsely advertised.

I'll keep it simple so you don't have to waste your time reading this like we wasted our time eating here. Service was terrible, waitress was nice enough but not very attentive. Might of been a different story if we were sitting at the bar ordering shots and buying her songs off of the jukebox like some of the other lovely patrons but this was not the case. Atmosphere is....blah. How can you hang a sox pendent next to a cubs pendent being a true Chicago fan. Pick one. Food was decent. We ordered a large stuffed pepperoni pizza which wasn't too bad. Little expensive and took a little while to get there but again was somewhat expected. Long story short. Thank God for the free restaurant.com gift certificate or this would've been a waste of the afternoon. Just kidding. Lets be real. I would've never gone here if it weren't for that and would've settled for the filly b's next door.

A little dive bar with great pizza! Game room in the back for the kids. Patio for smokers. Reasonable drink prices.

Riding the "L" Train By The Rue I've been back here a few times, Since my last review, Amanda hasn't been working, What ever should I do? It's still a great place, To drop in from time to time, Say hi to Liz and Steve, 4th stool from the end is mine. I noticed they lowered the price, Of their pints and their drafts, It wouldn't have mattered to me, I really like this place's staff. I still haven't eaten here, Just had a few Coors Lights, Thanks for using the same glass, And preventing any fights. During the ASU game, You can get $2.50 beers, I think it's the same for the NFL, This is my very own Cheers. Evanston!!

My wife & I decided to grab a pizza on our way home & with our young daughters in tow we walked in and ordered to go after seeing a minimal separation between the bar and the general dining area. We ordered off of a menu that showed costs comparable to pizza joints like Barro's, sadly the pizza turned out to be one step up from frozen pizza at quadruple the cost... While the pizza wasn't gross, it also wasn't anything I'd choose to put in my mouth again.

My rating is for the food. It is good but not great. The service was efficient and the wait staffer cheerful and knew the menu. What was a disappointment was that I expected more from a place with "Chicago" in the name. Wall banners for the five Chicago sports teams does not a Chicago restaurant make. I found a truer to its base restaurant on Brompton Place in London that this San Tan Valley establishment. For starters, the menu lacked signature Chicago dishes like Vienna Beef hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches that drip with juice, barbecued baby back ribs. The olive burger was close to what you'll find in most Chicago snack shops (the local term for neighborhood diner) though the ketchup was watery. No real Chicago beers like Goose Island and Augsburger. The musak was country pop, though Chicago has only one country radio station (US 99) and it broadcasts the trucker/country format. Chicagoans prefer oldies rock and blues on their radios. And why not set at least one of the big screen TVs to a Chicago sporting event. There are an increasing number of transplant Chicagoans in the East Valley. This place is missing the opportunity to be a home-away-from-home for Chicagoans and present others with a taste of what Chicago casual cuisine and ambience is all about.

We've gone x4 over a six month period. It's dark, the service is terrible. Every time we've been there they haven't had something that was on the menu and we ordered. My dad ordered Alfredo with sausage. The sausage was burnt and the Alfredo was canned. Their response was "oh" and to walk away. The owner was there one day and he was on overkill, bringing dinner 2 minutes after the appetizer showed up and asking every 5 minutes if everything was okay. I'm not sure why he asks because there hasn't been any changes since they opened a year ago. I'm not giving this any stars ... QC needs more restaurants, but we are not desperate enough to return to this place. The owner obviously reads these reviews but hasn't taken these identified areas of opportunity to fix anything. What a shame... The bar has to be the only reason it's still open.. It certainly isn't because of the food.

We have been there a short time after they opened and the food was horrible. We both ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the Italian beef. It had barely any meat on it at all and they didn't use the right type of meat. When we questioned this we were told by the owner that there was an error with their products they received. They should have been up front with that from the beginning. We thought we would give it a shot and order a pizza but when they told me the total was going to be $32.00 for a large and a small pizza I told them forget it. We can eat at Rosati's for less than that and the food is authentic Chicago at Rosati's. I don't think the owner has ever even been to Chicago or he would not be serving what he serves.

Initially I had planned on eating Filibertos right next door to here, but decided I'd try Chicago Pizza and Pub. It was around 6 pm and there were already 2 other families there and a few people at the bar. The first thing I noticed is most of the tables and booths were completely in the sun that was shining through the big windows! Hot Hot Hot! Secondly, there was no sign telling me whether I should wait to be seated or go ahead and pick a table-- I'm sure I had an awkward look on my face... A minute later or so, I was greeted by a woman from the back of the restaurant who apparently played the role of both hostess and waitress. I had her sit me in the back booth because of the sun. As for the restaurant atmosphere, I was surprised with the lack of people there-- in being a Saturday night during dinner time. The decor was kinda gloomy, and while there were some sports teams poster-like items posted on the wall, overall there seemed to be no real design in mind. I ended up ordering a small pizza with green peppers and a side salad. It took about 15 minutes for the salad to get to my table. The side salad cost $3.50 and was really not up to par. I had a lot of wilty, brown lettuce. I was impressed, however, with the 2 big peppercinis on the top (nom nom). I waited about another 10 minutes for the pizza holding out hope that it would be better than the salad. It was rather anti-climatic. While it was edible, it was comparable to Pizza Hut in my opinion. I found the outer part of the crust ridiculously crispy and dry while the center was soggy and slightly undercooked. The sauce was...meh... kind of zingy, but missing something (though I'm not sure what). I ended up taking most of it home to see if anyone else would like it. On a positive note, my hostess/waitress was attentive... though she didn't smile... like at all... which was awkward as well. I got my check, gave the waitress my debit card, and waited.... and waited.... and waited. I got a little antsy at one point when she went to the back of the restaurant with my debit card in her hand (identity theft!) but apparently the computers were on the fritz and she was unable to log in to use the credit card swiper. Including tip, I ended up spending 15 dollars. I really wish I would have just went and spent my $5 on a burrito, though.

I hate to post a poor review as a big supporter for small business. But owners have to hear our complaints and take those suggestions into consideration. Veggie pizza is horrible.. You MUST use fresh ingredients. If you just want pepperoni the pizza is okay. My suggestion is you hire a real chef and quit cutting costs in the kitchen. Your investment will help. Had spagetti...good but needs more noodles. Not a fan of the wings sauce. Burgers are the average bar burger. If I was stopping in just to drink..the place is ok but not really family friendly. Better step up your game or Native will wipe out what business you have. Good luck.

I almost didn't write this review after seeing the other reviews but really decided I had to. Like all the others I was excited to see a new place in the neighborhood and have tried it twice. Both times I was there they were out of menu items. The second time their soda machine was not working either. The service was horrible. Five minutes after our order was placed we were told they were out of chicken. Ok--my wife ordered the chicken wings as a replacement. They brought them out fifteen minutes before the other meals were brought out. When we pointed out this was a meal and not an appetizer the response we got was "the kitchen made them now so here you go". The calamari and cheese bread we got was just bad. There was not enough calamari (less then I have ever gotten at any other restaurant and I order calamari whenever I can), it was overlooked, and it clearly came frozen out of a box or bag. The pizza had awful sauce and too much oregano (I like oregano by the way). One time there I tried the stuffed pizza and the other time I tried the thin. I will not be eating either of them again. In short, bad and inexperienced service as well as the sub par food mean I am once again waiting for the next new place to open up.

Update: This restaurant no longer claims to be: "Chicago Pizza & Pub" - as the sign out front now says "Gyros". We were excited to try the gyros and a new restaurant but, sadly, this is in fact the same restaurant (believed to be under new ownership, but we couldn't get a straight answer from the staff). Surprisingly, the gyros were pretty good the first time we tried them. But, true to form, this place disappointed once again last night when I ordered three gyros for takeout. After I got home and tucked-into my gyro I noticed that what should have been Tzatziki sauce was actually mayonnaise. Gross! What makes a gyro a gyro (besides the lamb mixture) is the Tzatziki sauce. The kitchen should have 86'd gyros from the menu if they were out of Tzatziki sauce - or, better yet, someone should have driven to Fry's down the road for some yogurt and cucumbers. I'm so over this place. The only thing they have going for them is lack of competition.

I decided to give this place a try. I wasn't planning on it since I have not seen to many positive reviews. I did not have a menu in front of me and ordered one large cheese thin crust and one medium bacon and pineapple pizza. This came to $31.00. That was kind of my first problem with this place. The pizza is a little high priced especially if you have a large family to feed. Both pizzas were okay. The sauce was not that great. My kids did not like it. I would try their deep dish pizza but I don't feel like paying that much for it and being disappointed. It does seem to have a nice little sports bar though for the area. I would say it's worth trying once though. Who knows you may like it. As for me unless they offer a great deal I will never try this place again.

This place was everything i hoped it would be. I walked through the doors and saw the painted plywood walls i knew it was the place for me. You need to take things for what they are. This isn't Mastros, Ocean Club or Donavans Steak house. Its a PUB as it says in its name. The waitress was Nice, the mushrooms were great and the pizza was amazing. We didn't specify crust. It was thin crust and made from scratch. So good. We will be going back for sure. PS: always get what there specialty Is. Don't go to a place that obviously does a BUNCH of pizza business and order o Cobb salad. If you want good wings, go to a wing place, burgers, go to a burger place. Just saying.

We have tried this place several times, hoping it would improve. No such luck. Many reviewers here have complained about the unappealing decor, long waits for food, unfriendly manager and inexperienced servers, and they're right on every issue. Today was the last straw - we won't be going back. In fact, I couldn't wait to leave. It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get a house salad (although this time the lettuce was fresh), and after the typical 45 minute wait, the pizza turned out to be the worst we've had there. Just like several times before, the pizza ingredients were wrong. No surprise by this time, but to add insult to injury, they had changed the original crust that was Chicago style and so good. This crust was thicker, under-baked, chewy and tasteless. That combined with the pounding techno music had me running out the door. It's too bad because a pizza restaurant in this part of town could have been a huge success.

Stopped by Chicago Pizza and pub for the 3rd time last evening. My wife and i were on our way home from dinner and decide to stop in for a bit since we hadn't been here in a while and wanted to see if anything had changed since our last 2 disappointing visits. We walked in at about 9pm and sat down at the bar. Five min later a girl came out from the kitchen and asked to take our order. My wife ordered a Capt/Coke and I asked for a Manhattan. The girl then said I dont know how to make a Manhattan let me get the bartender. Ok, then five min later another girl came out from the back and proceeded to make our drinks. Worst attempt of a Manhattan I have ever had. I politely asked Amanda what she put in it and she told me Crown Royal and Vermouth with an orange twist. I told her that it is traditionally made with bourbon or rye whiskey and sweet vermouth with a splash of bitters. Her response was some Canadian guy at the gym told me it is made with Crown Royal. Not wanting to argue, I let it go, but was surprised that there was no Bartending Book to reference in case she didnt know how to make a drink. I then asked for a Michelob Amber Bock, didnt have it, then asked for a Dos Equis Amber, didnt have it, so instead of guessing all night i looked at the tap and ordered a Stella Artois. We then got a menu and decided to order a Chicago pizza. After about 35 min our pizza was ready(mind you there are maybe 10 people in the whole place). What a disappointment, thin crust, not thick, and quality wise i couldnt believe that they would charge $15 for a small 12 inch pizza. Would have been better off getting a $5 hot n ready Little Caesars pizza. Then to top off the whole night we get the wrong bill. Out of 4 people at the bar she couldnt give us the right bill. It looks like nothing has changed. Still all jet black interior , poor service and sub par food. Really wish they would turn it around since it is the closest bar to my house and i want to support small business. If you go i recommend getting a beer that you see on draft or a very simple drink(i.e. jack and coke), eat somewhere else. Really wanted to like this place, too bad.

We have been here before and it was great food. But the service was less than what should be expected. The watress was to say the least a little spacey forgot our order, served the wrong order. Asked us if we wanted it to go and gave us our check durring the appitizer..that's just rude. Management did step in, seemed annoyed to help and didn't really want to hear about the several issues that needed to be addressed. However he did cover the cost of the pizza. But the damage is done. Waited over 2 hours for a pizza.. Will not be back.

I'm sorry to say I can't recommend this place for people looking for a true Chicago style deep dish pizza. The sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce, the cheese was nowhere as stringy coming off the pizza, and on top of that, they put on the wrong ingredients. On top of all that, a pizza that was "allow 30 minutes for deep dish" had me waiting there for an hour and twenty five minutes until I actually had to ask if my pizza was done yet. I gave two stars cause they did knock off 20% for the long wait.

I have a lot to say, but primarily, I want to say that the owner is young and his influence is felt all over this place. Our waitress, Amara, was friendly but very flaky and didn't seem to take my suggestions and concerns seriously. Also, I asked for cookies for my kids and got brownies. I have been going to the neighborhood hair salon for a few months and saw the pub in development. I was excited to see it finally open and liked the patio area (although we did not sit there). My husband and I were extra excited to see a 40% off coupon at the salon when we stopped in to make an appointment. When we walked into Chicago Pizza and Pub, I was immediately struck by the all-black interior. Now, I love black as much as the next girl, but I thought the whole place felt too nightclub-by to be a pizza joint. Especially because dance music was blaring the whole time. Most of the decor was bland Chicago sports stuff, and there were hookahs behind the bar, which seemed completely random to me. How do those fit into the theme? The decor just seemed kind of scatterbrained and inconsistent. The guy who sat us turned out to be the owner, and his affect was so-so. He wasn't very warm or charming. He said he didn't have any booster seats yet, which was a disappointment. They had high chairs but no boosters. Considering the restaurant opened a month or so late, you should be able to snag a couple booster seats. I immediately went to the ladies room, which put a bad taste in my mouth because you couldn't tell where to go and there were double doors that swung in either direction, which was a complete accident waiting to happen. Thankfully I noticed a guy coming out so he didn't whack my daughter in the face with the door. I think the doors should be labeled "in" and "out" (b/c a lot of people are dumb and can't adhere to the 'stay to the right' principle) or kill the double doors all together. Amara was cute and bubbly but it seemed like her first rodeo. We seemed to have to wait a little bit too long for the pizza bread we ordered as an appetizer. She didn't check in with us enough throughout the meal. She was a little too "buddy-ish" and not quite professional enough. I felt like she was treating me like a high school friend. Now, I agree I can have a very casual presence, but staff should maintain their professional demeanor. We got 40% and free dessert, but otherwise I was let down. I don't think we would go back to pay full price. I'm sorry to say that, because I like the salon owner and her family, and I realize the owner is her husband! I'm much happier with the way the salon is run. I think there's more attention to detail. Oh, after glancing at the other reviews, I remembered that the waitresses seemed slammed and too busy, while there was a hostess that stood at the front and did practically nothing for the 45 minutes we were there. There were also a couple dudes hanging around by the drink station in the back who seemed to have too-little to do. The staffing was unfortunately uneven.

Went there tonight on a date with my husband (Friday night) and based on what we read here, we weren't expecting much.... We were pleasantly surprised! The place has a good use of space, half bar and half restaurant. The name has Pub in it people!!! Our waitress Daryl was friendly and attentive. The manager stopped by our table a bunch (almost too much), and the food came out fairly quick. As for food, we started with wings. The honey BBQ was good, but the mild were too hot (and we aren't wimps). They were cooked well, and good sized for wings. We then had the stuffed pizza, which was yummy. I didn't notice a second crust on top, it was very much like Chicago deep dish to me. The bottom was cooked perfectly, no soggy/unbaked parts at all. We ordered the 12" and we could barely eat 3 slices between the too of us. The only complaint was there was almost too much cheese (is there such a thing) but it was real mozzerella. The pizza sauce was just ok, not fabulous. Drinks: being date night, we did have a few. They have like 8-10 beers on draft and a long list of speciality mixed drinks. I had the San Tan Punch. It came from the bar tasting like straight alcohol (again, most wouldn't find anything wrong with that). I had the waitress bring a small glass of the mixer juices to cut it with and it was much better. Overall, we are happy to have a decent pizza place in that shopping center (the last 2 were terrible!!!) and we will definately be back. Don't let the other reviews scare you, any new restaurant has growing pains, and this one seems to be over theirs. Give it a try!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
